The Keep Them Safe: A shared approach to child wellbeing action plan included a commitment to progressively evaluate its implementation and the effects of the new child protection system on outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
This evaluation is being conducted in two stages: an Interim Review (completed in 2012); and an Outcomes Evaluation (scheduled for completion by June 2014). The evaluation is being conducted on the basis of an Evaluation Framework and Implementation Plan commissioned by the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and was endorsed in June 2011 the NSW Governments Justice and Human Services Chief Executives Officers Forum. These documents are described below.
Evaluation efforts are being overseen by a Steering Committee composed of representatives from government agencies, the non-government sector, and independent experts. If you would like more information on the evaluation of Keep Them Safe than is available here, please feel free to contact the Keep Them Safe Evaluation Team in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
