Advisory Groups

Father and Daughter

Cross-sector collaboration is the key underlying principle of Keep Them Safe, with government and non-government agencies working closely together to help ensure children and families receive the support they need.

This partnership approach applies to all levels, from local agencies working together on individual cases, to the heads of government and non-government agencies working together to develop new policies and practices.

Collaboration and consultation also occurs through the Child Protection Advisory Group (CPAG), which is chaired by the Minister for Community Services and includes heads of peak organisations, prominent academics, union representatives and officers from other government departments in its membership.

The CPAG is supported by an advisory pool, made up of service providers and key stakeholders, and a series of subject-specific working groups.
